Bogotá - Pereira - Bogotá

The departure and return flight destination is not bound to Bogotá. You can fly to Pereira from any other airport in the country, such as Medellin, Bucaramanga, Cartagena, Santa Marta etc. 

 

Travel information

Day 1 - Arrival in Pereira

Upon arrival in Pereira at the airport you will be met by us. With the private car we bring you to the booked hotel. The rest of the day is at your free disposal. 

 

Day 2 - Panoramic tour through the middle Cordillera 

This excursion takes you along one of the most fascinating panoramic roads in the coffee region. Along the roads lined with coffee and banana plants we will drive up into the breathtaking mountain world of Colombia to the "Balcón del Paisaje - the imposing statue of Christ". You can hear and marvel, it is one of the largest in the world if you look at the Christ statue as a whole, including the pedestal on which it stands. From up here you have a magnificent view of the volcanic area "Parque Los Nevados", of four Departementos and five Municipios. If this view is not enough for you and even higher, he can climb the head of the Christ statue and enjoy the most beautiful views with Christ's eyes.

 

Afterwards you continue to the mountain village Belalcázar. It lies off the classical tourist routes and presents itself to you originally. With the guide you will stroll a little through the authentic village and get to know the culture and everyday life of the mountain people. A short hike through a piece of natural jungle path follows before you continue your journey on one of the most unique panoramic roads. Past coffee, banana, lulo and cocoa plantations. Breathtaking views are guaranteed with breaks for lunch and coffee.

 

Day 3 - Two authentic and charming villages in the mountains 

The enchanting mountain villages Santuario and Apia are your destination for the day. They are beautifully situated in the mountains of the Western Cordillera. Here you will not find any foreign tourism. Everything runs normally, sometimes with a little more peace and quiet, sometimes with Colombian temperament and hustle and bustle. Both villages are colonial very well preserved and have been able to keep their natural charm until today.  

 

The first thing you do is drive up into the mountains to Santuario. Arrived at the village plaza, you will visit and marvel at the beautifully designed, decorated and colorful village center. Afterwards you stroll extensively through the village. Later you will drive high up on a mountain ridge. From up there you have a gigantic view of the majestic mountains of the Western Cordillera with its idyll. You can enjoy this view even further on a small circular path before it is time for lunch and you return to the village.

 

After a typical lunch you will continue your journey to Apia. There a beautiful mountain village is also waiting for you to be discovered. Embedded in hilly coffee plantations in full lush green both the landscape and the pretty village provide many photo motives. To get another fantastic, far-reaching view of the Colombian mountain world, you will also drive further up over the village. But not only the view up there is spectacular, it is also followed by a short walk through a small "plant and nature park", which will impress you with its green and flowering opulence.

To end this day perfectly, a romantic candle-light dinner in the garden of the hotel is planned for the evening.   

 

Day 4 - Delicious brunch & hiking

Also for today our team has prepared something special for you. Have a brunch in the middle of an idyllic oasis surrounded by tropical nature.

For this you will drive with your guide to the mountain village Marsella. The scenic route is full of bends and offers fascinating views of the western Cordillera. Arrived at the nature refuge "Los Lagos", a stylishly set table with delicious delicacies awaits you. After brunch, you start strengthened and full of energy with the guide for a hike over lovely mountain ridges, passing small, typical finca houses of the coffee farmers, which are very simply built, but often decorated with many flowers and plants from the region. After about an hour of walking you can already see the significant church top of Marsella on the horizon. The village is nestled in the middle Cordillera with a view of the Andes chain of the Nevado del Ruíz. The center of the village captivates by the typical architecture of the coffee region with its decorated wooden balconies and colorful window and door frames. Once you arrive in the village, you will also encounter the original life of the locals, as it was decades ago. You will find small butcher's stores, fruit and vegetable stores, stores with simple everyday objects that have long since disappeared in our modern world. The social life of the village is concentrated around the plaza with its numerous small cafés and restaurants. You now have the opportunity to try a local coffee in one of the cafés and observe the traditional village life. Especially on Sundays you can still see the traditionally dressed coffee farmers with their Panama hats on their heads, the ponchos over their shoulders and the machete on their belts. Dressed so traditionally, the farmers almost look like a postcard idyll. The tour ends with a visit to the "Casa de la Cultura", which is well worth seeing. In the lovingly restored inner courtyard of the finca-style house you will find a historical collection about the interesting history of the village. 

 

Day 5 - Day at leisure
Arrange this day just as you like. Whether relaxing in a hammock, a relaxing wellness massage or active, sporty activities, ... you are spoilt for choice. The team of the boutique hotel is at your disposal with its service.   

 

Day 6 - Return or continuation of your journey to the desired destination airport    

After breakfast we will pick you up at your hotel and take you by private car to Pereira Airport. From there you will fly to your desired destination.
